Natural purple coloring of anthocyan in blueberry's skin and fruit contains anti-cancer substance as well as dietary fiber, calcium, iron, and manganese. Hearsay of blueberry being 'good for eyes' came from British pilots of the Second World War. It is said that pilot's night vision was improved after eating blueberry as the staple food and it motivated the research on blueberry.
